After a long hiatus, Jena Joyce is happy that her "empty-nester" status has allowed a return to San Diego's theater community.  Jena first ventured back on the boards in 2019, and -- seriously bad timing notwithstanding -- has since appeared in 8 community productions.  Jena is represented by Nanci Washburn of Artists Management Agency for film/video work.  When not acting, Jena is a transactional lawyer and avid community volunteer, including serving on the Board of San Diego Performing Arts League.

Jena has a B.A. in History with a Certificate from the Program in Theatre & Dance from Princeton University, where she performed in a dozen plays, designed costumes for several more, and served on the board of Theatre Intime, a fully student-run operation.  After college, Jena performed in 10 plays, mostly for San Diego area theaters (Fiesta Dinner Theatre, NewWorks Theatre, Marquis Public Theater, The Fritz) before venturing down a different career path, first into public relations in New York City.  She went to law school in the early 90's and has practiced more than 25 years, first at big law firms, and since 2002 with her own firm, The Joyce Law Group, which allows her the freedom to take time off as needed for theatrical adventures.
