Hunter Katz hails from San Diego, California.  Hunter has been involved with the preforming arts since the age of eight appearing in many plays, musicals, commercials, and prints when he was a child. His first professional experience was being a part of The Old Globe’s 2011 production of The Odyssey. Hunter committed to San Diego State University in 2017 to pursue a B.A. in Theatre Performance. He graduated in 2021, with Cum Laude honors.

Immediately arriving as a freshman at SDSU, Hunter made his collegiate theatre debut as Menelaus in The Trojan Women. Hunter then made his SDSU mainstage debut during 2018 as a Sophomore in the mega-concert Leonard Bernstein’s Mass which he performed alongside Broadway Veteran Andre Ward. Hunter also trained with Broadway Professionals including: James Gray, Bob Cline, Stacia Fernandez, Sara Ford, Timothy Hughes, Drew King, and Jack Sippel as part of the 2019 Open Jar College Intensive in New York City.  During his time at SDSU, Hunter appeared in starring, principal, and featured roles in Twelfth Night, Antony and Cleopatra, Chess, and Modern to name a few. In 2020, Hunter’s senior year he originated the role of Dodie in the World Premier of Laura Jacqmin’s play Two Lakes, Two Rivers.
