Amira Temple is a recent graduate of San Diego State University who aims to contribute to the evolution of theatre, through their work as a teaching and performance artist and director. Amira’s practice centers equity, solidarity, transformative justice, and uninhibited joy. Some of their recent work includes Assistant Teaching a Voice Acting Course for CSU Summer Arts, Performing in Hamlet as Hamlet with Prague Shakespeare Company, and Directing Motherfucker with the Hat for San Diego State. Some of their recent learnings include Practicing Conflict Transformation Through Forum Theater and Playback Theatre with workshops at Arts Education Connection. Amira is currently working on a DocuTheatre project that focuses on the experiences of BIPOC LGBTQIA+ folks, and will be directing ZACH for San Diego’s Loud Fridge Theatre Company this Fall.
